Evening with Industry (EWI) is our largest annual professional event. Last year, 150 students attended the event, representing all majors and interests. At this event, students and companies are able to talk beyond the typical career fair elevator pitch. As a part of our Engineering Career Week, the goals of EWI are to introduce students to a variety of engineering careers, to provide networking opportunities, and to provide companies an opportunity to recruit future employees.
The event includes:
- Networking with students
- Table discussions over dinner, with three rotations corresponding with the three-course meal
- Continued networking and/or company presentations in breakout rooms
Prior to the event, students will register for specific company tables. Therefore, all 5-8 students at the dinner table will have an expressed interest in the company and the careers available. Ideally, companies will be represented by an engineer, who can speak to the specifics of the job, and a college relations representative. Following dinner, companies will have an opportunity to reach a larger audience by holding an information session to highlight the current engineering work they are doing as well as the career opportunities for students.
By attending this event, you are helping us develop a group of female students into capable professionals and demonstrating your support for women succeeding in technical fields.
The date for EWI fall 2020 has not been set yet; check back for updates. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions on the event or if your company would like to attend! Space is reserved on a first-come-first served basis. Take a look at pictures from the past three years at the event below!
